The therapist has a university degree which includes not only theoretical training quality , but a significant workload of practice in hospitals , health centers , nursing , unit and early stimulation amputees .

On the other hand the massage therapist has no official title , so is not able to perform health activities such as massage, stretching or joint manipulations aimed at treating certain illness or injuries.

The College of Physiotherapists of Andalusia also warns of the risks of using massage services on the beach , since the user is unaware of the training of the person who gives massages and often poor hygiene of these services (often do not wash their hands between one person and another ) being able to transmit infectious diseases.
